A new initiative launched by Dubai Future Foundation and Amazon UAE offers a new opportunity to Dubai residents to make extra money by delivering Amazon packages on foot in crowded and busy areas across the city. This programme was introduced to encourage people to join and earn through the gig economy. This initiative is a part of Amazon joining the Sandbox Dubai platform, which has recently secured official approval from the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan.
Foot Delivery Initiative Creates Jobs and Reduces Traffic in Dubai
Dubai Future Foundation with Amazon UAE, introduced a new foot delivery initiative for individuals and small businesses in the emirate. This programme creates extra and flexible income opportunities through on-foot delivery services. This comes under the Sandox Dubai platform, which focuses on supportive new projects by creating flexible rules for innovative business ideas. Many are calling this collaboration the best startup story of Dubai’s growing gig economy because it blends sustainability, technology, and economic empowerment.
Sandbox’s agreement with Amazon highlights how Dubai is adapting to futuristic solutions while opening up new opportunities for residents and businesses. The main purpose of this programme is to provide residents with flexible ways to earn more money and also support the emirate’s economic and sustainability goals.
Residents participating in this pilot scheme will deliver packages on foot, mainly in busy and crowded areas where vehicle deliveries can be ineffective. By using the idle working hours, this aims to provide people with extra earning options, helping small business owners and supporting their smooth expansion.

Additionally, Amazon’s foot-delivery in Dubai initiative also aims to find effective solutions for common urban challenges. It aims to reduce the reliance on delivery vehicles, which can help reduce traffic jams and carbon emissions. By tackling these urban problems, this initiative supports Dubai’s goal for a greener and more sustainable city.
Sandbox Dubai Collaboration Supports Entrepreneurship & Economic Growth
Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Turkey’s Vice President, Mr. Ronaldo Mouchawar, said the Sandbox collaboration is part of the company’s goals to provide fast and reliable services, while offering extra earning opportunities to support entrepreneurs.
Dubai Future Foundation’s CEO, Khalfan Belhoul, said this collaboration highlights how the Emirates’ public and private sectors are working together to build a supportive framework for innovation. He added that this programme also supports the launch of pilot projects that can make the city’s economy more competitive and future-ready.
The Sandbox Dubai initiative under the D33 plans to make the emirate’s economy twice as big within a decade. Its main aim is that the city must secure a rank among the top three global business centers in the next ten years.
