Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Immigration Authority, announced the launch of the world’s first AI immigration. Announcing this major progress in smart travel, he said this AI corridor service will improve passenger entry services at the DXB Airport. He further added that, unlike traditional checks, which process one passenger at a time, the new advanced system can now identify passengers’ data in advance, before they arrive at the border control.

Based on the reports shared by ACI, DXB Airport has secured the position as the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic in the previous year. Al Marri, highlighting that Dubai Airport secured the busiest airport for international flights for the 11th time in a row, is a matter of great pride for the Emirates. He added that the launch of the world’s first AI immigration system in DXB Airport showcases GDRFA’s efforts and long-term vision for making travel smoother while keeping the highest level of security with the use of highly advanced technologies. He also highlighted that in the future, the reliance on traditional travel documents will completely end, as AI now handles passport and immigration checks automatically. Additionally, passports that will be found suspicious will be directly shared with the forgery experts for review.
He also explained that as the new system recognizes the passengers’ data in advance before they even reach the checkpoints, it will help in faster passing through immigration checks. Unlike before, now 10 passengers can pass through at the same time. This major achievement has greatly enhanced Dubai’s reputation as a preferred entry point for millions of international visitors who use DXB Airport’s services.
