UAE Announced as Safest Country in the World Again

The Emirates was again announced as the safest country in the world in 2025. Numbeo, a popular and trusted Serbian database site, recently released its survey reports, officially naming the UAE the most secure country to live in across the globe.

Numbeo’s Mid-Year 2025 Global Safety Index by Country report revealed that the Emirates topped 147 countries globally, with an outstanding score of 85.2. This achievement has strengthened the country’s position as a global leader in public safety and quality of life. Moreover, this also highlights the nation’s commitment to offering a secure place to live for its multicultural population, including expatriates from over 200 nationalities.

Safety First: UAE Continues to Dominate Global Rankings

The UAE again dominated in global safety rankings and surpassed Andorra, which secured the second position among the most secure countries to live in in the world with an index score of 84.8. This tiny European nation is home to only 80,000 residents, smaller than some neighborhoods in the city of skyscrapers, and was previously ahead of the Emirates in the safety rankings.

To reveal the final list of the most secure countries for living in the world, Numbeo’s safety index considers five different factors, including crime levels, public confidence in safety, security force effectiveness, personal safety risks, and safety while walking during the day and night. Moreover, the concerns about violent crime, theft, and unfairness are also considered. The database site released the final score after evaluating the survey responses from the last 36 months from visitors on its website. A higher score means that the nation is safe for living.

UAE and Gulf Neighbors Shine in Global Safety Index

Not only the Emirates but also its Gulf neighbors, including Qatar and Oman, are also securing high positions in the global safety index 2025 with outstanding scores of 84.6 and 81.4, respectively. Qatar dominated 147 countries in the world by securing third place in the safest countries list, while Oman is ranked at number six in the list of the most secure countries to live in the world. Moreover, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait secure positions at 14th and 38th place in this list. The top 5 spots in this list are secured by the UAE, Andorra, Qatar, Taiwan, and Macao.

This incredible rise in global safety rankings also reflects the best startup story of how a young nation like the UAE transformed itself into a global benchmark for public security and quality of life within just a few decades.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi Among World’s Safest Cities

In the global list of the safest cities in the world, the Emirates cities, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai, outshone popular cities in other safe countries. Currently, 5 positions in the top 6 safest cities in the world are secured by Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Sharjah, and RAK. The first rank on the global safety index for safest cities is secured by Abu Dhabi with an impressive score of 88.8.

The public safety policy in the UAE is outstanding, as each emirate of this nation is home to a large expatriate community. Other international cities that have secured positions among the top ten safest urban cities in the world are Doha, Taipei, Muscat, Tampere, and The Hague. Currently, Dubai is in fourth place in the safest cities list with a safety index score of 83.9.

The UAE’s capital city has secured the top rank for the last nine years, and this year, Ajman secured second rank with a score of 85.5. After Ajman, Doha is ranked at number three, while RAK is at number five. The survey results also revealed that the Emirates recorded the lowest Crime Index score globally at 14.8, which highlights its police effectiveness and public safety policy.

Moreover, Abu Dhabi is again leading the safest cities in the world based on the crime index, with an index score of 11.2. On the contrary, Haiti, Papua, Afghanistan, New Guinea, South Africa, and Venezuela are the countries with the lowest scores on safety and the highest on crime index.
